Slovene Ski Lifts Are Safe, Says Transport Minister
Ljubljana, 27 November - Despite the average age of 19.7 years, Slovene ski lifts meet all national legal regulations which are among the strictest compared to other Alpine countries and the EU member states. The Slovene ski lift infrastructure is out-of-date, but well maintained, therefore no serious accidents or unexpected incidents have been recorded in the recent years, Minister for Transport and Communications Anton Bergauer told the press on Monday. A total of 116 accidents happened on Slovene ski slopes in the last season, which resulted in 65 slightly and 35 severely injured.
