Kmecka Druzba Aims at Nasdaq
Ljubljana, 29 November - Bridging the privatization gap is less important than developing the capital market and preparing authorized investment companies for competition and contemporary financial products, Matjaz Gantar, the manager of Kmecka druzba, told the daily Delo on Wednesday. The reasons are, according to Gantar, the smallness of Slovene economy, its rather weak financial market and a high number of small and medium-sized companies that appeared after Slovenia had attained independence. Those companies were mainly financed by means of savings and bank loans. Nevertheless, this is not enough for further growth, says Gantar. Companies need additional funds, and venture funds - theirs is approximately DEM 20 mio worth - are the best opportunity.
