Slovene Economists Discuss Balance of Payments

Ljubljana, 1 December - The balance of payments is an ID card for such a small and open economy as is the Slovene one, said Bank of Slovenia Governor France Arhar on Friday during the opening of the fifth annual conference of the Section for Economic Policies. He added that this is something especially true outside Slovenia's borders, while it is also something that is given too little attention at home. This year the annual conference, in which renowned Slovene economists are taking part, will focus on the balance of payments, while macro-economic factors such as the foreign balance, monetary policy, financial indicators, competitiveness of exports and foreign direct investments (FDI) will also be touched upon.
