Vecer Comments on Slovene-Austrian Relations

Maribor, 2 December - The issue of the Krsko Nuclear Power Plant exposes quite specific political and probably also economic interests of Slovenia's northern neighbour, the Maribor-based daily claims in Saturday's edition. Austria's political interests are related to its blocking Slovenia's accession to the EU, the economic ones possibly with Austria's future investments in Slovenia's power infrastructure. Vecer wonders why Slovenia has not protested against such behaviour. The Czech Republic has and has been assured that Temelin is not an obstacle to its EU membership by European Commissioner for Enlargement Guenter Verheugen.
