Review of Events Involving Slovenia in the Week from 25 November to 1 December
Ljubljana, 2 December - Slovenia got its sixth government after Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek's coalition cabinet won parliament approval last Thursday. Meanwhile the country's relations with two of its neighbours became troubled with new difficulties. The issue of the Krsko Nuclear Power Plant and Avnoj decisions returned to the agenda of Slovene-Austrian relations, while diplomatic relations with Croatia became somewhat tense after Croatia's Embassy in Ljubljana refused to accept a note of protest from Slovenia's Foreign Ministry. Slovenia's ties with Belgrade strengthened further during the visit of a delegation of the Serb Democratic Opposition. The European Court of Human Rights established that Slovenia violated the European Convention on Human Rights in the case of German citizen Ernst Rehbock.
