Slovenia Expects to Close Another Chapter in the Latest Round of Membership Talks
Ljubljana, 4 December - Slovenia and the European Union will meet for a new round of membership negotiations on Tuesday, this time at the ministerial level. The two sides will review and formally endorse what has been agreed in the past six-month period, and continue substantive negotiations on two chapters of the acquis: social policy and employment, and regional policy. Slovenia expects to be granted the requested transitional period in the chapter on social policy and employment, and is confident that the chapter will be closed, so that the number of currently closed chapters would reach 14 after the third and last round of negotiations during the French presidency.
