Candidate Countries Are Confident That the EU Nice Summit Will Succeed
Nice, 7 December - The leaders of the 15-nation bloc have met their counterparts from the 13 countries applying for EU membership Thursday to hear their their views on the Union's institutional reform, the main topic of the EU summit that was to open in Nice just a few hours later. Slovenia's Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek expressed his country's confidence that the summit would end with a positive result, as failure would be a negative message to Europe and the rest of the world, sources in the Slovene delegation said.
