The State Covers up Human Rights Violations, Says the Helsinki Monitor
Ljubljana, 8 December - The state orients its efforts regarding human rights manly in various ways of covering up human rights violations before the Slovene and international public. It was impossible for the ombudsman, who was so far named by politics, to fulfil its mission in such an atmosphere, while the parliament lagged behind in discussing his reports for as much as two years. The battle for human rights is thus largely fought by the Slovene Helsinki Monitor, which works under impossible conditions and completely without state support, explained President of the Slovene Helsinki Monitor Neva Miklavcic Predan at a news conference on Friday.
