Slovenia and FRY Establish Diplomatic Relations

Ljubljana, 9 December - The agreement on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Slovenia and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was signed on Saturday in Ljubljana by the Slovene and Yugoslav Foreign Ministers, Dimitrij Rupel and Goran Svilanovic. The move comes ten years after the former Yugoslavia broke up and diplomatic relations between the countries were severed. This move is also expected to boost relations in all areas, including the economy, as well as facilitate a settlement of succession issues regarding the former common federation.
