High Quality and Extreme Usefulness: Educa Publishes First Pedagogical Collection
Ljubljana, 28 January - PEDAGOGY/EDUCA/COLLECTION/PANEK/HROVAT/KRAPŠE
Educa, a privately owned publishing house of Nova Gorica which has been publishing a magazine of the same name on pre-school and primary school education for three years, presented its first pedagogical collection of books in Ljubljana today. In addition to a Teacher's Calendar for 1994, it includes five valuable and informative professional books by Slovenian and foreign authors. A translation of an essay written by Czech historian and expert on the Slovenian language Jaroslav Panek, entitled Jan Amos Komensky - A Czech Humanist on the Path to Improving Human Affairs, is especially important. It gives a detailed picture of the period around the turn of the 17th century and a portrait of Komensky, the great Czech humanist and founder of modern pedagogical theory, who made a major contribution to the expansion of enlightened education in many European countries.
