Slovene Foreign Minister Optimistic about Resolution of Open Issues with Croatia
Ljubljana, 11 December - From the aspect of Slovenia's bid to join the EU, it is of utmost importance for Slovenia that the EU is ready for enlargement by the end of 2002. Other matters, such as the decision-making system, number of commissioners, a potential division of the EU into first and second class member states, will become relevant after Slovenia joins the EU, Slovene Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel said in an interview for the weekly Mladina. The interview was conducted prior to Rupel's departure for the EU Nice summit.
