Weekly Review of Trends in Slovenian Economy from 24 to 29 January
Ljubljana, 31 January - The last week of January was marked by a meeting between Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Drnovšek and Croatian Prime Minister Nikica Valentić in Ljubljana. They discussed the settlement of unsettled Croatian debts towards the Krško nuclear power station, as well as the issues of demarcating the state border, Slovenian property in Croatia, the Zagreb branch of Ljubljanska Banka Bank, and increasing trade between the two countries. A trade agreement enabling customs-free operations would greatly contribute to revitalising trade. The two prime ministers agreed to hold another meeting in Zagreb on February 7 when the agreements on employment and fishing are likely to be signed.
