Agriculture Minister Issues a Decree Banning the Use of Bone Meal
Ljubljana, 12 December - As part of a series of measures introduced in order to protect consumers from the danger of mad cow disease, known as BSE, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food has now issued a decree banning the use of bone meal for the fodder of animals. Thus Slovenia joined the measures introduced by the European Commission. The decree will be enforced from 1 January 2001 to 30 June 2001 at the latest.
