Duty Free Shops to Be Transformed as of 1 April 2001, Says Government
Ljubljana, 14 December - The government on Thursday decided to transform duty free shops at road border crossing with Austria and Italy into border shops as of 1 April 2001, and allocated certain funds to solve the problem of job loss and economic situation in affected communities in the border region. The proposed solutions were drafted in the form of amendments that will be added to the bill on special measures of supervision of shops at road border crossings, which has been in parliamentary procedure for almost a year. The bill is expected to be adopted next week in a fast-track procedure.
