100 Years of Insurance Business in Slovenia
Ljubljana, 19 December - The Slovene insurance business celebrates its 100th anniversary this year and the century-long insurance culture ranks Slovenia among most advanced nations, said the chairman of the board of the Slovene Insurance Association and board director of Slovenia's largest insurance company, Triglav, Nada Klemencic at a ceremony held on the occassion of the jubilee in Ljubljana on Tuesday. Insurance companies are more important than the agricultural sector for the Slovene economy as they allow for about five percent of the gross domestic product. This year they signed some three millions insurance contracts and made SIT 200 billion (950 million euros) worth insurance investments.
