Participating in the Stability Pact for SE Europe Is Useful for Slovenia

The Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe and Slovenia's role in it remain unclear for the Slovene public, while some political circles even believe that Slovenia's participation in the Pact pulls the country away from Europe and into the embrace of the Balkans. It was this uncertainty that induced the National Council and the Citizens' Forum to stage a debate on Slovenia's role in the political initiative for the Balkans in the parliament on Tuesday.
