Delo: To Freeze or Not to Freeze

Ljubljana, 30 December - Inflation in 2000 was four times higher in Slovenia than in western countries, says Slovene daily Delo on Saturday. According to the paper, the government will have to stabilise the exchange rate and fix prices to the EU level before Slovenia's accession to the EU. As this will not be possible very soon, the prices might have to be frozen, which would be facilitated by administrative regulations amended two years ago, says Delo.
