Review of the Slovene Economy in the Week from 23 to 29 December
Ljubljana, 31 December - The past week, which was marked by the festive mood, saw the adoption of an order for the temporary financing of Slovenia for the first three months of 2001 at Saturday's correspondence session of the Slovene government. The government adopted the order since the budget for 2001 is still not prepared. The Slovene government also made inroads on that front by adopting micro-fiscal policies and budgetary outlines for 2001 and 2002, according to which the budget deficit for 2001 should not exceed 1.2 percent of GDP.
