Biathlon World Championships Opened

Bled, 2 February - The Biathlon World Championships held on Slovenia's Pokljuka were officially opened on Friday evening. The opening ceremony of what is the first ever winter sport World Championships held in Slovenia was attended by 250 competitors from 34 countries that will be competing for medals in the next nine days of competition. The opening ceremony saw the presentation of all teams and featured a fire-works display and an aviation show in what is one of the most attractive Slovene tourist locations.
