EU Should Take in New Members Between 2002 and 2004, Says Potocnik

Brussels, 2 February - Slovenia would be very disappointed if the European Union would not open its doors to the first new members in the period between 2002 and 2004; in this period enlargement must take place, as this is only logical, said Slovenia's Chief EU negotiator Janez Potocnik. Potocnik expressed this on Friday in Brussels as part of his participation at a conference of the Centre of European Political Studies on the development of the EU following the Nice summit.
