Government Adopts Budget Bill for 2001

Ljubljana, 7 February - The budget bill for 2001 was harmonised and adopted on Wednesday, with its revenues totalling SIT 1150.1 billion (EUR 5.39 billion) and expenditure SIT 1199.6 billion (EUR 5.62 billion). Budget deficit will thus stand at SIT 49.5 billion (over EUR 232 million), or 1.08 percent of GDP, which is less that the anticipated 1.3 percent. General government deficit will represent 0.98 percent of GDP.
