Deposits of Slovenia's Population Up in 2000

Ljubljana, 9 February - Tolar deposits in Slovene banks increased by 14.4 percent in 2000, causing the share of tolar deposits to amount to 49.9 percent of the population's overall deposits in Slovene banks, giro and current accounts excluded. Deposits in banks increased by 16.1 percent in real terms in 2000 over 1999, according to the latest issue of Economic Mirror, the bulletin of the Institute of Macroeconomic Analysis and Development.
