Slovene Exports Up 2.2 Percent in 2000

Ljubljana, 12 February - Slovenia exported US$ 8.73 billion worth of goods in the year 2000, while it imported US$ 10.11 billion, according to figures released by the National Statistical Office. The trade deficit thus amounted to US$ 1.38 billion, while the coverage coefficient reached 86.3 percent. In a year-to-year comparison exports thus increased by 2.2 percent, while imports were up 0.3 percent.
