IMF Mission Satisfied With Current Indicators, Tougher Times Ahead

Ljubljana, 13 February - The overall performance of the Slovene economy in 2000 was positive, with secure growth levels, but with a worrying inflation rate, was established by the IMF delegation paying an annual consultation visit to Slovenia over the past two weeks. Outlooks for 2001 are good, while medium-term prospects are somewhat less rosy due to a number of tough challenges that still face Slovenia, a press conference aimed at presenting the preliminary findings of the regular consultation between the IMF and Slovenia revealed.
