Finance Minister on Budget, Chief Slovene EU Negotiator on EU Challenges
Ljubljana, 15 February - Finance Minister Anton Rop presented the problems faced by the government in preparing a budget for 2001 in a speech delivered at the 29th seminar of Slovene economists which is being held in the Alpine resort of Bled on Thursday. Among the problems presented were the carried over obligations amounting to SIT 22 billion (cca. 100 mio euros), a fallout in a part of the income and the increase in financing for cultural institutions.
