Finance: UMTS to Bring 1.5 Percent GDP
Ljubljana, 16 February - The government will collect an equivalent sum of 1.5 percent GDP by granting the concession for the UMTS third generation mobile telephony services, said Slovene Finance Minister Anton Rop in an interview for the Friday issue of the Slovene business daily Finance. Rop stressed that the basic idea is not to spent the money for current expenses, but rather to allocate it for a long-term period in order to reduce the budget deficit or the public debt.
