Poor Trade in the Last Quarter of 2000

Ljubljana, 16 February - Trade with foreign countries was relatively poor last December. While exports totalled US$ 687.4 million, down three percent from December 1999, imports amounted to US$ 807.4 million, which was 91.1 percent of the imports in 1999. Preliminary data of the National Statistical Office show that the highest volume of trade was recorded in the second quarter of the year, something that followed high economic growth in that period. Exports and imports were lowest in the third quarter.
