Delo on Austria's Initiative on Central European Community of Interest
Ljubljana, 17 February - It seems that Austria, which after EU accession, the fall of the Belin Wall, the Balkan wars and the poverty in SE European countries feels superior to all its surroundings (except to the mighty neighbour Germany), again revived the "Austrian idea", which has not really died since the end of the Hapsburg monarchy, writes the Saturday edition of the Slovene daily Delo in an article that comments the recent initiative of the Austrian Foreign Minister Benita Ferrero-Waldner, who offered Slovenia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland to form a "community of interest" that would be later on transformed into an "alliance".
