Review of Slovenia's Economy in the Week from 10 to 16 February

Ljubljana, 18 February - An IMF delegation visiting Slovenia for annual consultations with the authorities established that the Slovene economy is strong, with inflation and wage policy in the public sector as the only worrying factors. However, Slovenia will face tough challenges in the mid-term, including that of restoring order in public finances. Telecommunications also headed the week's agenda with a visit of the Telekom Slovenia group delegation to Yugoslavia and the announcement that the sale of UTMS licenses should contribute incomes of some 1.5 percent of GDP to the budget.
