Slovene President Consults about New Ombudsman Candidate
Ljubljana, 19 February - Slovene President Milan Kucan on Monday launched another round of consultations with parliamentary parties on the candidate for the new Slovene ombudsman. Of the 23 candidates that have applied for the post, former Director of the Government Office for Women's Policy Vera Kozmik-Vodusek and former Transport Minister Anton Bergauer each received the support of three deputy groups. The president is not restricted to propose an ombudsman from the arrived applications, as he can opt for a candidate of his own choice.
