MPs Give Green Light to Law on Transformation of Duty-Free Shops

Ljubljana, 21 February - In a 67:10 vote, MPs backed the law which sets 31 May 2001 as the deadline for the transformation of duty-free shops at border crossings with Austria and Italy into ordinary shops. The National Assembly had to repeat the vote on Wednesday after the law has recently been vetoed by the National Council. 81 out of a total of 90 MPs were present at the session.
