Austria Ends Blockade in EU-Slovene Negotiations on Energy

Brussels, 21 February - At the next round of accession negotiations between the EU and Slovenia, negotiations in the chapter of energy could be closed. The news comes after Austria moved to remove a blockade on the negotiation in this chapter which it had set due to a doubt in the safety of the Krsko Nuclear Power Plant. As a response to the move the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the Member States at the European Union (COREPER) on Wednesday endorsed a decision that further negotiations with Slovenia on energy are not required.
