Mercator Exceeds Plans in 2000

Ljubljana, 22 February - The Business System Mercator, the company managing the Mercator Group, last year generated a turnover of SIT 96.5 billion (451 million euros), up 24.8 percent from the previous year. Net profits totalled SIT 4.1 billion (19 million euros), which was 41 percent more than in 1999. The Mercator Group, on the other hand, recorded SIT 240.04 billion (1.1 billion euros) of consolidated net turnover, which was a 37-percent increase from the previous year. Net profits of the Group rose by 37 percent to SIT 4.17 billion (19 million euros).
