Government to Reduce Differences in Purchase Prices of Beef
Ljubljana, 22 February - At the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, the cabinet on Thursday passed amendments to the decree that sets down subventions for the preparation of agriculture products and food for the foreign market. The purchasers of these products, slaughterhouses and exporters will have to pay at least SIT 525 (2.46 euros) to breeders for a kilogramme of slaughtered meat of cattle that will be exported either alive or in the form of meat. Exporters that will fail to meet this condition will loose the right to subventions.
