Bled Declaration Adopted at Conference on Democracy and Human Rights

A three-day conference on democracy, human rights and the safeguarding of ethnic and religious minorities in Southeastern Europe ended at the lake-side resort of Bled on Sunday with the adoption of what was termed the Bled Declaration. The document sets down ways of settling issues in SE Europe, ways of encouraging co-operation, and the integration of the region into European institutions. More than 150 experts, politicians, religious dignitaries and officials of international organisations took part in this SE Europe Stability Pact gathering.
