Budget Bill Submitted to Parliament

Ljubljana, 27 February - The government on Tuesday afternoon submitted the budget bill for 2001 to the National Assembly, confirmed the parliament's information office. The bill anticipates revenues totalling SIT 1150.1 billion (5.39 billion euros) and expenditure of SIT 1199.7 billion (5.62 billion euros). Budget deficit would thus stand at SIT 49.6 billion (over 232 million euros), or 1.08 percent of GDP. In addition to the budget bill, the government also handed over the budget memorandum and a programme to sell the state-owned financial and material property in 2001.
