Premier Drnovsek and Finance Minister Rop Present the 2001 Budget Bill in the Parliament

Ljubljana, 6 March - Finance Minister Anton Rop, who presented the 2001 budget bill in the parliament on Wednesday, said the upward trend of public finance deficit should stop in 2001, so that in a few years a public finance balance could be achieved. The 2001 budget will not be adopted before the end of April. The government, however, plans to start drawing up the 2002 and 2003 budgets as early as in April, Rop also told the parliament. Premier Janez Drnovsek emphasized that the 2001 is development-oriented.
