Ljubljana, 8 March - The six-year old controversy surrounding the change of the status of Slovene duty free shops has recently reached the proportions of a major American soap opera. By proposing a referendum on this issue, the opponents of the shops transformation into ordinary shops have crossed the line of good taste and lost the support of the general public, a Ljubljana-based daily writes on Thursday.
