Former Finance Minister Favoured as Future Central Bank Governor by Most Parties

President Milan Kucan has completed a series of consultations with heads of parliamentary factions on candidates for the post of Slovenia's central bank governor as the incumbent governor's term expires on 31 March. The majority of factions told Kucan they would support former Finance Minister Mitja Gaspari for Bank of Slovenia governor, while many of them have not yet made a final decision.
