Delo on the Appointment of a New Central Bank Governor

Ljubljana, 13 March - As the mandate of the incumbent governor of the Bank of Slovenia expires on 31 March, it is rather immature that MPs still have not elected a new governor. In addition, the backing of a simple majority in parliament is sufficient for a successful appointment, meaning that a person for such an important post could be elected by as few as 24 MPs, the Slovene daily Delo writes on Tuesday.
