Haider Promotes Carinthian Tourism, Discusses Minority Issues

Ljubljana, 13 March - Tourist officials from the Austrian province of Carinthia, headed by Provincial Governor Joerg Haider, presented at Tuesday's press conference an exhibition on the Middle Ages in Friesach. Discussions at the press conference also touched upon Slovene-Austrian relations, which Haider assessed as being "on a good path, on which there are, however, obstacles which have to be overcome". He added that historical problems such as the AVNOJ decisions must be resolved, but "we are only interested by the legal status" of the German-speaking community in Slovenia.
