Government Discusses Strategic Goals in Labour Market Development Until 2006
Ljubljana, 15 March - The government on Thursday discussed proposed strategic goals in the labour market development until 2006. An improvement in the education level and professional qualification of the active labour force, and the inclusion of all young unemployed people in active programmes are high among the goals. Other targets include the reduction of structural imbalances, which should show in a drop in the share of long-term unemployed people to around 40 percent and a drop in the share of the unemployed without vocational training to around 25 percent. A reduction in labour market imbalances in different regions is also planned.
