Second Series Cancelled in Planica, Gold Goes to Schmitt
Planica, 18 March - Due to strong wind, the second series of the world cup ski-flying in Planica has been cancelled. The winner of Sunday's event is thus Germany's Martin Schmitt (218.5m, 217.6) who came before Finland's Rist Jussilainen (217.5m, 217) and Norway's Tommy Ingebrigtsen (218.5m, 211.7) in the first series of the event earlier today. The world cup in ski-flying went to Poland's Adam Malysz, who came in fourth at 212.5 metres and 211 points in Planica today.
