Trade Union Urges for Withdrawl of New Regulations on Opening Hours in Retail Business

Ljubljana, 19 March - A trade union representing workers in the retail business once again voiced its protest Monday against new regulations which let every shop owner to decide whether shops would be open or not on Sundays. Earlier, it was up to municipal authorities to decide on the opening hours of local shops. In response to the criticism, Economics Minister Tea Petrin said it is impossible that an activity should be dependent on an individual community, but that uniform rules should be applied instead.
