Slovenia to Become First EU Candidate Country to Close Environment Chapter

Ljubljana, 21 March - Slovenia is expected to be the first EU candidate country to close the chapter on the environment in the full EU membership talks at the next round of negotiations due on 29 March. The Coreper committee on Wednesday confirmed the EU's common viewpoint that Slovenia and the EU do not need to negotiate on environmental legislation anymore.
