EU-Compatible Maritime Legislation Given Green Light in Parliament

Ljubljana, 23 March - A new maritime code was adopted in swift procedure on Friday in a 44:5 vote. Adjusted to EU standards and introducing an internationally compatible system of maritime law, the new legislation, which is expected to give a fresh impetus to the development of Slovenia's maritime and maritime trade, has around 1000 articles and is to take effect one month after its publication in the Official Gazette.
