Weekly Review of the Slovene Economy from 17 to 23 March

Ljubljana, 25 March - New regulations which have fully liberalised shops' opening hours stirred a great deal of discontent among Slovene retailers last week, with trade unions reproaching Economics Minister Tea Petrin with denying shop assistants their Sunday rest and even calling for her resignation. However, Petrin explained that by endorsing the new legislation she had only eliminated the unlawfulness in that area.
