Minority Protection Act is Not a Victory, But an Opportunity for Better Relations

The adoption of the act to protect the Slovene minority in Italy is a "victory of democracy and the rule of human rights in the most modern European sense of the word," said Slovene President Milan Kucan, the key-note speaker at a reception dedicated to the adoption of the minority act. The reception, which took place in Ljubljana on Tuesday, was organised by two umbrella organisations of Slovenes in Italy.
