Finance Ministers from EU Candidates Meet, Get Ready to Convene With EU Colleagues
Copenhagen, 21 April - Finance Ministers from the 13 EU candidate countries met for a preparatory meeting co-ordinated by Slovenia on Saturday in Copenhagen prior to meeting with their colleagues from the EU member states. The ministers from the candidate countries agreed that at that meeting, which is currently taking place, they will highlight the burning problems faced during harmonisation of their economies to that of the EU to their colleagues from the 15-member bloc. Among the most difficult problems include the harmonisation of budgetary policies, in addition to fiscal stability and the calculation of deficits and the public debt.
