Slovenia Urges EU to Adopt Clear Enlargement Schedule

Stockholm, 6 May - Slovene Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel, who attended an informal meeting of foreign ministers from EU member states and cadidate countries in Nykoping, Sweden, on Sunday, expressed Slovenia's point of view that the EU should adopt a clear enlargement schedule by the end of this year. If the EU fails to do so and thus prolongs the waiting period for EU membership, public opinion in candidate countries could turn against EU accession, according to Rupel.
